The HCPS Department of Family and Community Engagement (FCE) is a valuable resource for students and families across our county. To help bridge the gap between home and school, this team offers a team of advocates, educational resources, free workshops to build personal financial skills and workforce readiness, and connections to other community resources. As cited in a message from FCE Director, Pamela Bell, “…the more we help families, the more families can support their children.”

Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) is creating a new strategic plan for 2018-25, and you can be part of this visionary process. HCPS families, employees and community members to kicked off the important initiative on Nov. 8 with educational consultant, David Stephen, co-founder of Boston-based New Vista Designs for Learning. His leading edge work in curricula, programming and school design centers on the question: How can the design of school programs and buildings best support the changing needs of 21st century students and teachers? His 45-minute speech will align with one of the HCPS cornerstones, “Academic Progress,” and will be followed by a question & answer period.
